Want to join the Greenville Gun Club?

The Greenville Gun Club is a members-only facility. You must complete the application process to become a member.  As an expectation, it can take several weeks for the process to complete.

New Membership applications closed for 2024; will resume in mid-Feb 2025. Watch this page or the banner running atop the screen for information closer to mid-Feb when re-opened. Thank you for your interest.

When GGC is accepting new member applications, a link will be presented above for the interested party to click on. The applicant fills in an online application, digitally signs a Waiver form, and pays a $150 non-refundable application fee.

Shortly after processing, the applicant will receive an email to review the Range Safety Rules and a link to take the Range Safety Test. The applicant will have no more than 30 days to take and pass the test. Upon successful passage of the test, GGC will email the applicant dates for the Safety Orientation Class in periodic status emails. It is preferred that the applicant bring their Background Check* documentation to this class.  If the applicant fails to take/pass the test within 30 days, the application will be declined.

Once the class has been taken and background check verified, the Safety Director and Secretary will present your application packet to the Board of Directors. If approved, the applicant will receive an email to pay the remaining fees (initiation fee and new member dues).

Upon receipt of payment, the Secretary will prepare and mail credentials to the applicant. Upon receipt of credentials, you are an active GGC Member in full standing and can enjoy all of the benefits of being a member. Credentials are typically sent 1-2 weeks after approval and receipt of funds.

Fee Schedule

The Greenville Gun Club charges three fees for all new members.
  • Non-refundable application fee ($150)
  • One-time initiation fee ($250)
  • New Member Dues ($150)*
Application and Initiation Fees are one-time. New Member Dues reflects an amount that is less than the Membership Renewal Fee or Annual Dues. All fee amounts are subject to change.

*Membership Renewal Fee (aka Annual Dues) for renewing members is $250 for 2025 existing members if paid by 12/31/2023; late fees apply after 12/31.  Members are sent a notice in 4th Quarter with a request to renew online.

Background Check

The gun club requires documentation that the applicant can own and possess firearms. The ONLY documentation the Club will use for this verification is ONE of these options:

   a) SC CWP;
   b) FBI Background check; or,
   c) Class I active duty law enforcement officer - official credentials

Must bring your original documentation to class, in person.  We do not accept photocopies.  The class instructor or Safety Director will review your documentation, with your driver's license or other picture ID just before class.  All originals are returned to the applicant, we keep nothing.  If there is an issue, we will so advise.

The Greenville Gun Club does not accept any other document.  There are no exceptions.  We do not accept TSA creds, military clearances, job employment checks, SC SLED checks, pilot licenses, ATF permits, a note from your mom, nada.  If you are a retired police officer, MP, or other government retiree, we do not accept your retired credentials; follow the above requirements.  Please don't ask.  You must prove that you can possess and use a firearm. These are the only choices we accept.

Notes about:
SC CWP - Takes about 100 days to receive after you attend the CWP class.  If you don't have the SC CWP when you apply to us, plan on obtaining a FBI Background check because its quicker and we are not going to wait on your documentation.

FBI Background checks - we urge that you use a "FBI Channeler". Historically, applicants have gone to Fieldprint, Inc. and other companies who do other background check services such as TSA checks, passports, and CWP.  These places take your fingerprints and submit the request on your behalf to the FBI.  Important: when saying the purpose for the background check, indicate it is for personal reasons.

Original documentation - Under NO circumstances should you mail, email, or fax a copy of your background information to the club; if a copy is sent, your application will be declined. All background check documentation must be done IN PERSON.  If you attend a class without documentations, that's ok...work with us to meet up with you once you have it.
