Job Title: Part-Time Range Safety Officer (RSO)
Location: Greenville Gun Club, Greenville, SC
Job Type: Part-Time (5-hour shifts)
Schedule: Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays
About Us
Greenville Gun Club is a premier shooting facility dedicated to providing a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment for our members and guests. We are currently seeking a vigilant and professional Part-Time Range Safety Officer (RSO) to oversee our Rifle and Pistol ranges.
Position Overview
As a Range Safety Officer, you will be the primary on-site authority responsible for enforcing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all club rules, and assisting members. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses excellent situational awareness, and maintains a welcoming yet firm approach to range safety. Reliable transportation and dependability are crucial for this role.
- Range Supervision: Actively monitor the Rifle and Pistol ranges to ensure all shooters adhere to established safety rules and standard operating procedures.
- Customer Service: Assist members with range orientation, target placement, and general inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to any safety violations, cease-fire commands, or medical emergencies.
- Facility Maintenance: Conduct routine checks of range equipment, maintain the cleanliness of the shooting lines, and secure the facility at the end of shifts.
- Firearm Knowledge: Maintain a solid understanding of various firearms, ammunition types, and ballistics to ensure safe operation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Active Range Safety Officer (RSO) credentials from a recognized organization (e.g., NRA).
- Experience: Previous experience working as an RSO or in a highly regulated firearms environment is strongly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently yet respectfully correct unsafe behavior.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in varying outdoor weather conditions, and lift/move up to 25 pounds.
- Background: Must be able to pass a background check and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Pay Rate: Hourly rate TBD compensate to candidate's experience
